I-CAR is the “Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair” – an international non-profit organization dedicated to providing information, knowledge and skill training for the auto body industry. Autmotive safety standards are highly regulated and require repair facilities to adhere to established benchmarks in order to maintain a vehicle’s integrity following a collision repair. I-CAR leads the way in working with repair facilities to insure that regulations are followed and technicians are adequately trained and certified to perform repairs in the proper manner. Rally Collision Center is proud that our technicians are I-CAR Steel Welding Certified and prepared to handle the challenges of welding new auto manufacturing materials and techniques.
Rallye Collision technicans participate in I-CAR Steel Welding Training & Certification program to give you the peace-of-mind knowing that your collision repair is being done right by trained auto body professionals. This program continually stays up-to-date with the ever-evolving auto manufacturing process that utilizes new technology and materials to meet government standards of safety and fuel economy. Outer body panels are composed of steel that is as little as .70 mm thick, while frames use thicker, higher-strength steel than ever before. Mastering a wide range of welding techniques is required to address each instance. The I-CAR welding test consists of ten welds to be made on 22 gauge and 16 gauge pieces, vertical and overhead positioning, plug welds, open butt joints, butt joints with backing, lap welds, thick-to-thin material welds, all subject to destructive testing that reveals any flaws in the weld. These tests are performed directly at Rallye Collision Center with out technicians using their own equipment in our own facility to get real results in a working environment. Our technicians have mastered these techniques and have achieved recognition from I-CAR as Certified Steel Welders.
By requiring our auto body technicians to be I-CAR Steel Certified, we are ensuring that your vehicle’s collision repair will be handled only by qualified experts that have been trained on specific manufacturer assembly techniques and can properly restore your vehicle to its pre-accident condition with the assurance that it retains all of its safety features. Trust Rallye Collision Center with your Long Island auto body repair and let us use our expertise to bring your car back to factory condition.
